Osala reassigned to Albany
ALBANY — After a short stay with Carolina, left wing Oskar Osala has been reassigned to the Albany River Rats.
Osala made his debut with Hurricanes on Wednesday, taking eight shifts and recording 6:46 of ice time in Carolina’s 4-3 overtime loss at Washington.
The 22-year-old Osala defenseman Brian Pothier, a former Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute standout and captain, were acquired by the Hurricanes in a trade with the Washington Capitals on March 3 for defenseman Joe Corvo.
Osala, who has recorded two assists in two games with the Rats, has totaled 31 (15-16) points in 55 games this season with Hershey and Albany.
