Albany receives reinforcements for playoffs
The Carolina Hurricanes reassigned six players to the Albany River Rats.
Forwards Drayson Bowman, Zach Boychuk and Jerome Samson, as well as defensemen Casey Borer, Jamie McBain and Bryan Rodney, will rejoin the River Rats to compete in the Calder Cup playoffs.
Albany enters the postseason as the second seed in the East Division and will open its division semifinal series by hosting the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Hurricanes, who didn’t qualify for the NHL playoffs, concluded their season on Saturday in a 4-2 loss to Boston.
