ALBANY — Goalie Mike Morrison was reassigned to the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, signifying rookie netminder Mike Murphy is set to return to the Albany River Rats lineup.
Murphy was sidelined for eight games after he suffered a hip injury in a 10-4 loss at Hershey on Jan. 15.
The first-year pro has won four of his past five starts and will likely backup goalie Justin Peters this week as Albany plays at Binghamton at 7 tonight and hosts Springfield on Saturday afternoon at 5.
Morrison was recalled in Murphy’s absence and backed up Peters for the past eight games.
