Peters, Boychuk recalled by 'Canes
The Carolina Hurricanes recalled goalie Justin Peters and rookie center Zach Boychuk from the Albany River Rats on Friday.
Albany also announced goalie Tyler Sims has been signed to a professional tryout.
This is the fifth NHL recall for the 23-year-old Peters and his second this season and the goalie has yet to see game action at this level. Peters, who represented Albany in the AHL All-Star Classic, is 18-13-2 this season with a 2.55 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.
Boychuk is on his fourth NHL recall this season with the Hurricanes and has tallied one assist in nine games this season with Carolina.
The 20-year-old Boychuk ranks second in goals (12) and points (27) in 41 games with Albany this season.
Sims, 24, has posted a 0-3-1 record with a 2.47 GAA and a .908 save percentage in six games with Elmira of the ECHL this season.
