Center Zach Boychuk was reassigned by Carolina to the Albany River Rats on Sunday.
The rookie played in all seven of the Hurricanes games from Jan. 2-16 on two separate recalls from the American Hockey League.
This completes the third National Hockey League recall of the season for Boychuk, who registered one assist in nine games with Carolina this campaign.
The 20-year-old Boychuk came into Sunday’s game at Providence tied for second in goals (11) for the River Rats and second in points (24) in 34 games.
