Samson posts first NHL point
It didn’t take Jerome Samson long to make an impact in his NHL debut.
The right wing assisted on veteran center Rod Brind’Amour’s goal 2:52 into the first period for Carolina against Nashville on Thursday.
The Predators went on to score four consecutive goals to prevail, 4-2.
Samson logged 7:10 of ice time, including nine seconds on the power play. The third-year pro was credited with four shots and finished as a plus-one with one minor penalty.
The forward is on his first NHL recall after he was called up by the Hurricanes late Wednesday night following the River Rats’ 3-2 overtime loss to Adirondack.
