Samson at last gets the call

Jerome Samson finally got the call.
The right wing was promoted to the Carolina Hurricanes for the first time in his three-year pro career.
Samson got the news on Wednesday night, just minutes after Adirondack edged Albany in overtime, 3-2.
“I’m real excited for Sammy,” Albany coach Jeff Daniels said. “The way he finished last year and the way he started this year, he’s been very consistent and there are some games he’s dominated out there. ... Just to see his reaction last night when I told him he was getting the call, he was pretty excited.”
Samson, who scored 21 and 22 goals in his first two seasons with the River Rats, respectively, leads the club this season in goals (13), assists (17) and points (30).
With Samson up with the parent club, four of the Rats’ top six scorers — Samson, center Zach Boychuk (11-13-24), right wing Pat Dwyer (11-8-19) and left wing Jiri Tlusty (8-7-15) were all up with the Hurricanes as of Thursday night.
