Hershey rolls past Albany

The Hershey Bears continued their dominance of the Albany River Rats on Friday night.
River Rats defenseman Jonathan Paiement’s second goal of the night evened the score at 2-2 early in the second period, but Hershey scored the game’s next six goals in an 8-2 victory over Albany in an American Hockey League game at the Giant Center.
The team’s combined for 10 fighting majors and 124 penalty minutes, as league-leading Hershey (52-13-0-3) snapped both Albany’s four-game winning streak and its eight-game point streak.
Chris Bourque and Keith Aucoin each scored two goals for the Bears, which won its fifth consecutive game against the Rats and improved to 6-2-0-0 against Albany this season.
Alexandre Giroux and Boyd Kane each tallied a goal and an assist each to lead Hershey to its 24th straight home win.
Goalie Braden Holtby stopped 13 of 14 shots through the first two periods to earn the win.
Mike Morrison made 21 saves on 29 shots faced for Albany (38-25-3-5).
Earlier on Friday, the Carolina Hurricanes recalled defenseman Bryan Rodney from the Rats, Rodney's fifth recall of the season. In a separate move, Albany recalled defenseman Elgin Reid from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
After playing at Binghamton at 7:05 tonight, the Rats return to host Binghamton at 3 on Sunday afternoon.
