Rats sign Van Buskirk to PTO
The Albany River Rats have signed rookie goalie Parker Van Buskirk to a professional tryout contract and will be available for Wednesday’s game against the Worcester Sharks.
The 21-year-old Van Buskirk, was acquired by the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League from the South Carolina Sting Rays on March 9 in exchange for forward Chris Capraro. A Windsor, Ontario native, Van Buskirk began his rookie season with the Utah Grizzlies and posted a 5-8-1 record with a 3.39 goals against average and a.881 save percentage, before being traded to South Carolina for future considerations. He made seven appearances with the Stingrays (1-3-2, 3.84).
