Brian Lashoff back with Grand Rapids

East Greenbush native and defenseman Brian Lashoff was reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins by the Detroit Red Wings from the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.
The 19-year-old Lashoff, the younger brother of Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Matt Lashoff, made his pro debut with the Griffins last season and registered five (1-4) points both in six regular season games and in eight American Hockey League playoff games.
Standing at Listed at 6-foot-3, 204 pounds, the younger Lashoff won a goal medal with Team USA in the World Junior Championships in January in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, capped by a 6-5 overtime triumph in the title game. He recorded two assists and a plus-one rating in seven games to help lead the United States to its second junior championship.
Brian Lashoff served as Kingston’s captain, guiding the club to the OHL playoffs after posting 27 (6-21) points in 58 regular season games.
