Samson honored as first-team AHL all-star

Jerome Samson’s hard work and determination continues to pay off.
The third-year right wing has been selected as an American Hockey League all-star as a first teamer, which was announced on Thursday.
Samson has recorded career highs in goals (37), assists (39) and points (76) in 72 games this season and also ranks second in the league in goals and fourth in points.
Samson was also selected as AHL Player of the Month, as he totaled 24 points, including 10 goals, in 12 games in March.
His month included three four-point games, a pair of three-point efforts and his first career hat trick in a 6-2 victory at Adirondack on March 24.
Joining Samson on the first team is Hershey center Keith Aucoin, a previous All-Star with Albany; Hershey left wing Alexandre Giroux, Hamilton rookie defenseman P.K. Subban, defenseman Danny Groulx of Worcester and Manchester goalie Jonathan Bernier.
The second team includes: Springfield left wing Charles Linglet, Hartford center Corey Locke, Hershey right wing Andrew Gordon, Rochester defenseman Clay Wilson, Houston defenseman Maxim Noreau and Hamilton goalie Cedrick Desjardins.
